Make a shared diet your own

Browse starter meal patterns, choose a start date and adapt an independent copy to your routine.

29 October 2026 · 3 min read

Dinner is over. The details are still on the bill.

You shared a curry, had some rice and ordered a drink. Instead of remembering every dish later, use the bill to build a draft list. The final decision stays with you: which items were yours, how much you ate and what to save.

Illustrative example below, not a scan result or nutrition estimate.

Shared table → your diary draft
1 vegetable curry

2 rice orders
Ordered quantity · check what you ate
1 lime soda
Check preparation and your serving

From receipt to reviewed meal.

  1. 01

    Choose a starting point

Explore the public Diet planning and Recipe catalogue pages. Try the browser planner and download your changes. In the development app, open Profile → Diet planning → Browse diets & recipes. The new import/apply flow is not yet released in the store app.

  2. 02

    Review ingredients and portions

Open a diet to inspect each meal, its gram portion and duration. Recipe details show weighed ingredients, ordered preparation steps, batch yield and calculated nutrition. Starter patterns are editable examples, not complete nutrition prescriptions. Check food labels and ingredient suitability yourself.

  3. 03

    Apply an editable copy

Choose a start date and apply. Meals are added alongside your existing plan. Change portions, move meals or remove them in Diet planning. Catalogue updates do not rewrite your copy, targets or diary. The same version cannot be applied twice on the same start date. Review and log meals only when eaten.

  4. 04

    Share or import a plan

Share this week as a diet previews and saves a JSON file containing planned foods, portions, ingredient snapshots and preparation text. Review that text for private details, then share the file yourself. The recipient opens Import shared catalogue, reviews the contents, imports privately and chooses a start date. Community publishing is a later feature.

Before you scan.

Does applying a diet log food?

No. It creates editable planned meals. The existing review-to-log flow records only what you choose to log.

How are recipe nutrients calculated?

Ingredient values are scaled by their edible gram quantities and summed for the batch. Batch weight and serving count determine portion values. Missing ingredient nutrients remain unknown. Raw and cooked food records are distinct; there is no automatic conversion.

Can I import a large catalogue programmatically?

Yes. The portable JSON schema supports ingredient, recipe and diet definitions with explicit version references. The repository validation command checks them before import and can emit normalized JSON. Split imports above the documented file and record bounds.

Are shared files public?

Importing stores a private local catalogue. Exporting saves a file for you to share; it does not publish it. Actual diary records, account information and device settings are omitted, but recipe names, source text and instructions are included.

While bill scanning is in development, use manual food entry to record your meal and portions.
